MongoDB uses memory-mapped files for data storage, so for servers managing more than 2GB of data you will definitely need the 64 bit version (and a 64 bit version of Windows). Writing AppsYou can write apps in almost any programming language – see the Drivers page. In particular C#, .NET, PHP, C and C++ work just fine. BuildingWe recommend using the pre-built binaries, but Mongo builds fine with Visual Studio 2008 and 2010. See the Building for Windows page.
